Fall has officially begun! A slight nip of cold air wooshes past you sending a chill down your body. The sound of the first fallen leaf cracks under your foot. There is no better feeling than getting cozy with a blanket and sitting down to watch the perfect TV show that fits the season right outside your door. Fall is all about comfort, nostalgia and a hint of mystery. These five TV shows capture all of the autumnal elements needed to qualify as the perfect shows to get you back into the fall spirit.
Gilmore Girls

I would be remiss if I did not include the one obvious fall feeling TV show. If you look up the definition of fall in a dictionary, Gilmore Girls would be included as a photo. The small town charm of Stars Hollow makes this show the epitome of a cozy watch. The town is seemingly in a year long autumn with seasonal festivals and town meetings. Watching Lorelai and Rory navigate life together, enjoying each other's company, their town and daily coffee feels like a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simplicities of life.
Friends

Between the iconic Thanksgiving episodes, cozy scenes at Central Perk or watching all the characters chatting in Monica’s apartment, Friends is the ultimate comfort watch. The show is able to put you at ease through the warm color palette, iconic New York City background and playful banter within the friend group. The show’s episodes like “The One with the Football” is the quintessential Thanksgiving pillar filled with football, perfect food and of course friends who are a chosen family. This feel good sitcom can put anyone into a seasonal spirit.
Stranger Things

If your version of fall is less pumpkin spice latte and more Ghostbusters, Stranger Things is the way to go. Set in the 1980s with demogorgon fueled fear, and bicycles as the fastest mode of transportation, this show has just the right amount of nostalgia and supernatural twists. The friendships between the kids, old- school soundtrack and thrill of the Upside Down make this show addictive and perfect for a fall night watch.
Wednesday

Wednesday brings the dark academic aesthetic to life. This Netflix original centered around the iconic character Wednesday Addams from The Addams family balances gothic visuals, clever and quick witted humor. Jenna Ortega’s moody performance and never blinking eyes makes Wednesday a must watch. This show is creepy, fun and easily bingeable, making it the perfect show to round out your autumn lineup.
The Vampire Diaries

If your idea of fall involves darkness and drama, The Vampire Diaries is the perfect pick. In the eerie, yet picturesque town of Mystic Falls romance, mystery and supernatural activity thrive. The chilly and intense atmosphere of the show paired with routine saisonses, visits to the grave and trekking through the woods makes any TV night complete. Whether you are rooting for Damon or Stefan, you’ll find yourself immersed in this mysterious town that was made for the fall season. Plus, nothing screams Halloween and fall more than vampires.
The best TV to watch in fall are shows that set the mood. Comfort, nostalgia and mystery are all a part of curating a night to welcome the change of seasons. Whether you are laughing at Friends, swooning over The Vampire Diaries or diving into the dark world of Wednesday, each of these shows captures a different side to the season. Grab a fluffy blanket, light a pumpkin scented candle and let these TV shows sweep you into the fall spirit.
